Hard pass on the Terrace Bar Cart.

At $399, we expected something that would last 5 or more years and look great while doing it. Something practical and useful. What we got was anything but.

The Terrace Bar Cart is a 4 wheeled cart of relatively high height making it one of the few West Elm bar carts with potential for being a drink making station on wheels. Unfortunately, its metal frame is incredibly light weight and put together in a way that quickly leaves it a rickety, unstable mess, unable to be wheeled anywhere without shaking, rattling, and hardly rolling assuming there’s anything on it.

When new it has a dainty, refined look. Though not ultra stylish, it has its place in a number of settings, especially considering the thinner frame. As the paint wears — and it will wear — it starts to look more like something you got at a garage sale.

It’s not all bad. The mirrored shelves we expected to scuff and scratch quickly considering the low quality of the rest of the cart, but they actually seem to be holding up pretty well.

Regardless, good looking mirrors aren’t exactly the key to a great bar cart, and we found where it counts this one really misses the mark.
