Quality:

The classic café upholstered chairs are constructed with a solid wood frame. The leg supports are attached with biscuit joints and the seat base is screwed on, making it altogether a pretty sturdy piece of furniture likely to hold up under all but the weightiest conditions.

If you buy the upholstered version, there’s a good chance the fabric is going to loosen up over time and you’ll see wrinkles. The good news is with a chair like this it’s very easy to staple it back taut, or more simply just pat it out until the next time someone is sitting in it.

Style:

We love the simple yet elegant mid century modern design and the wood grain and walnut stain add just the right touch of sophistication for a dining setting. The small footprint make them perfect for any size room or table. There are a lot of chairs out there these days with this sort of stylistic approach, but we think the West Elm version is clean and is a nice representation.

Value:

These chairs are pretty good for the price. A solid wood frame, a sleek and timeless design, and comfortable to boot, they’re an incredibly practical purchase. They come in a variety of colors in the upholstered version and come in a non-upholstered version as well.

At $99-$149 you might do well to check out some other options such as the GDF Studio chairs below, but at the $75-$105 they frequently go on sale for — and a staple gun for when the fabric starts getting loose — we think you’ll have chairs which will last you for a very long time at an incredible price.
